Job Overview:
Launch Your Procurement Specialist Career Where Details Drive Results.Do you enjoy working with numbers, keeping information accurate, and seeing how your work helps customers? This early-career opportunity puts you on a collaborative team where you'll help keep products available, orders moving, and inventory on track. Procurement experience is welcome, but a background in inside sales, customer service, or account services can also prepare you to succeed here.
You'll help plan daily inventory replenishment and place orders with domestic and international suppliers. You'll confirm pricing and quantities, track delivery dates, and resolve delays before they affect customers. You'll also keep planning information current in SAP and support product launches and transitions, helping the team balance product availability, inventory turnover, and cost. This role is a fit for someone who enjoys data, data entry, and measurable results. You're motivated to own your work without close supervision, comfortable working with different personalities across teams, and eager to become a subject matter expert in how the supply chain works.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and issue purchase orders according to company purchasing policies and procedures
• Confirm purchase order information (price, estimated delivery date, order quantity, unit of measure etc.)
• Update the estimated delivery date on a real-time basis with Order Acknowledgements
• Expedite PO's as needed with various departments and suppliers to ensure material availability.
• Maintain and update all relevant planning/MRP data within SAP
• Support on all product life cycle related issues to include new product launches, transitions and end of life in order to ensure product availability and reduce the likeliness of obsolete inventory.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in customer service, inside sales, account services, or a related role handling orders, or financial information.
• 2+ years independently using a computer to navigate multiple applications and manage files.
• 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Outlook to manage business email, calendars, and meeting invitations.
• 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel to maintain, review, and analyze purchasing or inventory data.

Core Competencies

• Numerical accuracy: Comfortable working with prices, quantities, order details, and financial information; catches discrepancies before they affect orders or inventory.
• Organization and follow-through: Tracks open orders, delivery dates, and outstanding issues while managing changing priorities.
• Clear communication: Provides timely updates and works effectively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve questions or delays.
• Practical problem-solving: Investigates discrepancies, identifies the next step, and knows when to escalate an issue.
• Systems adaptability: Learns new processes and systems quickly and keeps information accurate and current.

Preferences:

• APICS CPIM certification
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• ERP systems knowledge, experience with SAP
• Inventory management, purchasing, production planning exposure
• Associate or Bachelor degree
