Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
Duration: 6 months contract
Job Description:
We are looking for an OpenShift Engineer responsible for administration, engineering, support, automation, and continuous improvement of enterprise Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.
The role will involve managing multiple OpenShift clusters, supporting application teams with migration and modernization of applications to containerized platforms, and contributing to automation, DevOps, security, and platform engineering initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with OpenShift Administration
- Experience with OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF)
- Experience with OpenShift Platform Plus
- Hands-on experience with Advanced Cluster Management (ACM)
- Experience with Advanced Cluster Security (ACS)
- Strong Ceph administration experience
- Extensive knowledge of Linux containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application/microservices architectures
- Working knowledge of Java, JBoss, NGINX, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures
- Experience migrating, modernizing, and refactoring applications into containerized workloads
- Experience with automated deployment and infrastructure automation tools
- Strong understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and practices
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, particularly GitLab
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, including protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and related technologies
- Ability and willingness to document processes, share knowledge, and mentor/train team members
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates
- Experience working in Agile environments, including Kanban, Scrum, stand-ups, and sprints
- Awareness of industry standards, emerging technologies, and modern platform engineering practices
- Experience with container and pod-level monitoring/logging
- Experience with monitoring and security tools such as Dynatrace and QRadar
