Contract to hire ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE CERTIFIED AND PROVIDE COPY OF THEIR CERTIFICATION Candidate must report to Harris Health (onsite) 2-3 times per year in Houston, Texas Position Overview Our hospital client is seeking an experienced Epic Ambulatory Analyst to support the implementation, optimization, maintenance, and ongoing development of Epic’s Ambulatory applications. This role will partner closely with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to translate business and clinical requirements into effective Epic solutions that improve patient care, provider workflows, and overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Epic Ambulatory workflows, experience working directly with clinical and operational stakeholders, and the ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into practical Epic solutions. Key Responsibilities - Analyze, design, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic Ambulatory applications and workflows.
- Partner with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, practice managers, and other stakeholders to understand operational and clinical requirements.
- Translate business and clinical needs into Epic system functionality and configuration.
- Participate in Epic implementations, optimization initiatives, upgrades, enhancements, and ongoing application support.
- Perform application configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution within the Ambulatory environment.
- Develop and maintain functional and technical specifications, workflow documentation, and application support materials.
- Conduct end-to-end testing, including unit testing, integrated testing, workflow validation, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Investigate reported application issues and determine appropriate solutions while considering downstream impacts.
- Collaborate with other Epic application teams to ensure integrated workflows and appropriate system functionality.
- Participate in system upgrades, new functionality releases, and organizational change initiatives.
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve clinical workflows, system efficiency, patient safety, and user experience.
- Provide support during go-lives, system implementations, upgrades, and other high-priority initiatives as needed.
- Work with training and clinical education teams to support effective adoption of new or enhanced functionality.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and follow established change management, testing, and application support processes.
- Participate in meetings with business owners and leadership to communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations.
- Ensure solutions comply with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, security standards, and Epic best practices.

Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Information Systems, Business, or a related field; equivalent healthcare IT experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience supporting Epic applications, preferably with significant Epic Ambulatory experience.
- Strong understanding of ambulatory clinical and operational workflows.
- Experience with Epic application implementation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate clinical and operational requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, clinicians, operational leaders, and IT teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications - Current Epic Ambulatory certification strongly preferred.
- Experience with additional Epic applications such as MyChart, Orders, ClinDoc, Cadence, Prelude, Referrals, or related applications.
- Experience participating in an Epic implementation or major optimization initiative.
- Experience supporting Epic upgrades and new functionality.
- Healthcare provider, hospital, or health system IT experience.
- Experience with workflow analysis and clinical process improvement.
- Familiarity with Epic methodologies, documentation standards, and change control processes.
- Experience working in an integrated Epic environment with multiple application teams.

Work Environment This position operates in a collaborative healthcare IT environment and requires regular interaction with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders. The analyst may be required to participate in meetings, testing activities, implementations, upgrades, and go-live support outside of standard business hours when necessary.
