The Role
- Apply expertise in naval architecture and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to support the design, analysis, and optimization of hovercraft, ships, and other maritime systems.
- Perform a wide range of naval architecture design and analysis activities for military and commercial customers.
- Conduct computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analyses (FEA) to assess system performance, validate adequacy, and optimize design.
- Collaborate with project teams, including engineers and program managers, to refine system-level performance and develop project deliverables.
- Document technical findings in comprehensive reports and present results to diverse stakeholders.
- Manage task requirements and execution timelines with minimal supervision, developing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in naval architecture with a focus on CFD applications.
- Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., Star-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM) and FEA software (e.g., Femap, NASTRAN, ANSYS).
- Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, hydrodynamics, and maritime systems.
- Experience with CAD and 3D modeling tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and presentations.
- Active Secret Clearance.
