Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Officer
Cupar, Fife based Part-Time role (3 days per week)
Permanent Flexible working pattern
35,000 - 45,000 pro rata + benefits (depending on experience)
Search Consultancy are delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established and highly respected Law firm based in Cupar to recruit an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Officer on a permanent, part-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the firm's AML compliance framework, ensuring full compliance with the Law Society of Scotland AML Rules and Guidance, and providing support and advice to staff across the business on all AML-related matters.
This role would ideally suit an experienced AML or Compliance professional with previous experience within the legal sector who is looking to join a reputable firm in a flexible, autonomous position.
Duties involved in this role will include:
- Managing and overseeing the firm's AML compliance function
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant Law Society of Scotland AML Rules, Guidance and regulatory requirements
- Conducting client and matter risk assessments
- Reviewing and monitoring Client Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) procedures
- Maintaining and updating AML policies, procedures and controls
- Carrying out file reviews and internal compliance audits
- Acting as a key point of contact for AML-related queries across the firm
- Delivering guidance and training to staff on AML obligations and regulatory developments
- Identifying and escalating areas of compliance risk where appropriate
- Producing compliance reports and maintaining accurate AML records
In order to be considered for this role your skills and experience should include:
- Previous experience within an AML, Compliance, Risk or Regulatory role within a legal environment - this experience is ESSENTIAL
- Thorough knowledge of the Law Society of Scotland AML Rules and Guidance
- Strong understanding of UK anti-money laundering legislation and regulatory requirements
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and assess compliance risks
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and confident approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Strong IT skills including experience using Microsoft Office applications
