Commercial Finance Lead

We are looking for a commercially minded finance professional to lead the commercial finance function across Holt Doctors and Agile Workforce. This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role, working directly with the CEO, Board and Senior Management Team to influence business performance, support strategic decisions and drive commercial improvements.

The role would suit an ambitious finance professional looking to take the next step into a senior, independent position, or an experienced individual who enjoys ownership, wants to influence decisions and make a tangible difference to business performance.

You will have significant responsibility and the freedom to challenge, recommend and implement improvements, supported by the wider nGAGE Group finance function.

Commercial Finance & Business Partnering

Lead the commercial finance function across all business areas, acting as the principal financial partner to the CEO and Directors.

Oversee pricing, financial modelling and commercial evaluation of tenders, proposals, contracts and new business opportunities across all divisions.

Analyse profitability by business line, client and contract, identifying opportunities to improve margins and performance.

Provide financial insight, constructive challenge and recommendations to support strategic and operational decisions.

Support business growth, new service development and investment decisions.

Financial Reporting, Board Meetings & Planning

Take ownership of business-level financial reporting, leading financial presentations and discussions at Board meetings with Group leadership.

Prepare and present financial performance, forecasts, key commercial drivers, risks and opportunities, providing recommendations and responding to Board challenge.

Lead the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes, working with business leaders and central Group Finance.

Work alongside the central Finance team in the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, year-end reporting and financial planning.

Deliver clear monthly performance analysis, highlighting variances and actions required to improve results.

Business Improvement & Leadership

Manage, support and develop the Commercial Analyst, providing direction, coaching and oversight of their work.

Take ownership of commercial finance initiatives, ensuring improvements and agreed actions are delivered.

Develop financial models, management information and reporting to improve visibility of business performance.

Identify opportunities to use technology, AI and automation to improve forecasting, reporting and efficiency.

Build effective relationships with business leaders and the central Group Finance team.

About You

Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), or equivalent relevant experience.

Strong commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering experience.

Confident presenting financial information to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders.

Excellent financial modelling, analytical and commercial skills.

Able to work autonomously, challenge constructively and translate financial information into practical recommendations.

Proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable taking ownership of decisions and delivering outcomes.

Experience managing or developing colleagues.

Experience in recruitment, staffing or a service-led business would be advantageous.
