The Company

Our client is an independent structural engineering consultancy providing structural inspections, surveys and engineering reports across the residential and commercial sectors. Despite being a small team, they have built an excellent reputation by delivering high-quality structural assessments for homeowners, commercial clients and major national logistics businesses.

Due to continued growth and plans to expand further across the Midlands and into the South of England, they are looking to appoint an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team.

£50,000 - £55,000 basic salary.

Home-based role with flexible working.

Opportunity to join a growing consultancy at an exciting stage of its development.

Varied project portfolio across residential and commercial sectors.

Genuine autonomy with support from experienced Directors.

Long-term career progression as the business continues to expand across the UK.

The role is heavily focused on carrying out structural surveys, inspections and producing detailed technical reports, with residential projects forming the majority of the workload alongside a variety of commercial and industrial assignments.

Working from home, you'll manage your own diary, visiting sites throughout the East and West Midlands while collaborating closely with the Directors. Every survey is different, offering genuine variety and the opportunity to solve real engineering problems.

Key Responsibilities

Assess structural defects, movement, cracking and building condition.

Produce clear, accurate and professional structural reports with practical recommendations.

Conduct site visits using digital surveying technology (iPads).

Liaise directly with homeowners, commercial clients and other stakeholders.

Carry out inspections for a range of clients, including major national logistics companies.

Strong technical report writing skills.

Experience across residential properties, with commercial experience desirable.

Good communication and client-facing skills.

Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Comfortable working remotely and managing your own workload.
