Business Analyst (H/F)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to act as a key interface between business stakeholders and IT teams.

You will be responsible for understanding business needs, analysing existing processes, defining and documenting requirements, and supporting the delivery of effective business and technology solutions.

You will work closely with business users, Product Owners, Project Managers, developers, architects, QA engineers and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear and structured requirements for IT and development teams.
• Conduct workshops, interviews and working sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
• Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
• Model business processes, workflows, use cases and functional requirements.
• Produce documentation such as Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications, User Stories, Use Cases and Acceptance Criteria.
• Manage and prioritise requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure traceability between business requirements, functional specifications and delivered solutions.
• Work closely with development and architecture teams to clarify requirements and address functional questions.
• Support QA teams in defining test scenarios, validating requirements and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Analyse gaps between current and target processes or systems.
• Participate in solution design discussions and assess functional impacts.
• Facilitate communication between business and technical stakeholders.
• Identify requirements dependencies, risks, assumptions and potential business impacts.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives when applicable.
• Support change management, documentation and knowledge-transfer activities.

Required Skills

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within complex IT or digital transformation environments.
• Excellent requirements gathering and requirements management capabilities.
• Strong experience writing functional and business specifications.
• Experience creating User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
• Strong knowledge of business process modelling techniques.
• Good understanding of BPMN and UML.
• Experience performing gap analysis, impact analysis and process analysis.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Good knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or equivalent.
• Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate effectively with developers and architects.
• Good understanding of APIs, system integrations, databases and data flows from a functional perspective.
• Experience supporting UAT and functional testing.
• Excellent documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SQL for data analysis or validation.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and integration architectures.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting/BI tools.
• Knowledge of tools such as Postman or Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Experience working in cloud or modern digital environments.
• Knowledge of data modelling and data-quality concepts.
• Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments.
• Relevant certifications such as IIBA CBAP/CCBA, PMI-PBA, PSPO or Agile/Scrum certifications.

Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Typically 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, preferably within IT-intensive environments.
• Proven experience contributing to complex transformation, application-development or system-integration projects.
• Strong analytical, communication and facilitation skills.
• Professional proficiency in English.
