Job description

Marketo Technical Lead

Location: London (hybrid)
Contract: 6-months (maternity cover)
Includes: 1 direct report

About the role

We're looking for a technically minded Marketo specialist to own the administration, development and support of our Adobe Marketo Engage platform during a maternity cover. You'll sit within a CRM Support team, keeping Marketo secure, reliable and well governed, and working closely with Digital Marketing, CRM and Sales. Alongside the hands-on work, you'll act as the in-house expert, advising teams on best practice and helping the business get the most from its platform investment.

This is not a campaign-execution role. Campaign delivery and data loading sit with the Digital Marketing team. Your focus is the platform, the data and the integrations behind it.

What you'll do
  • Run day-to-day administration, including user setup, access and permissions, governance, documentation and monthly data hygiene, and monitor database and API limits
  • Build and improve fields, forms, lead management processes, automations and workflows, following proper testing and release processes, and support the setup of new business initiatives
  • Own the Marketo-Salesforce integration, troubleshooting sync issues (eg qualified leads not reaching Salesforce) to root cause
  • Support third-party integrations, including LinkedIn and BigQuery
  • Triage and resolve platform incidents via ServiceNow, acting as the escalation point for marketing operations
  • Act as the key technical contact for Adobe, raising support tickets and joining regular vendor reviews
  • Review the platform and recommend improvements, spotting opportunities to use new Marketo features and feeding into the platform roadmap
  • Manage one direct report (previous people-management experience is beneficial but not essential)

What you'll bring
  • Strong hands-on Marketo administration experience, with a technical rather than campaign-focused background
  • Proven experience troubleshooting CRM sync and integration issues, ideally Marketo-Salesforce
  • Experience with data management, automation development and lead scoring
  • Experience supporting users through a ticketing system (ServiceNow or similar)
  • Good understanding of the lead life cycle and CRM data flows, plus familiarity with APIs
  • Experience of platform governance, documentation and change management
  • Confidence advising stakeholders on best practice and recommending platform improvements
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain technical issues in plain business language

Nice to have: Custom Data Objects, Adobe add-ons (Dynamic Chat, Interactive Webinars), wider Salesforce ecosystem experience, direct vendor management experience.
