Job Description

Accounts role - Accounting and Financial Reporting - Real estate, funds and varied clients.

My client is a well-established and growing London accountancy firm and is looking to appoint a fully qualified ACCA or ACA accountant to join its expanding Business Services team.

The role would suit an accountant with a strong accounts and financial reporting background, ideally with some exposure to property or real estate clients.

There is also the opportunity to work closely with a property investment fund, making this particularly attractive to candidates with experience of acquisitions, refinances and disposals, though this is not essential.

The Role

You will work as part of a small, experienced team, with responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients. The role combines year-end accounts, management reporting and statutory accounts, with plenty of direct client contact.

Approximately 50% of your time will be focused on year-end accounts and 50% on management accounts, with some involvement in tax computations which are subsequently finalised by a dedicated Tax team.

Alongside the wider client portfolio, you will have the opportunity to work on property fund reporting and technical accounting, including:
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts within tight reporting deadlines
  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Technical accounting relating to property acquisitions, refinances and disposals
  • Liaising with auditors
  • Working directly with clients on day-to-day accounting and reporting queries
  • Reviewing and improving existing processes and identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, including the use of AI
Experience Required

A fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with solid experience across accounts preparation and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will ideally have:
  • Strong experience preparing full sets of accounts
  • Experience working with a range of accounting records and systems
  • Experience preparing management accounts
  • Good knowledge of Sage and QuickBooks
  • Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
Property experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates are welcomed from accountants who have worked with property investment, real estate or property-related clients.

Experience of acquisitions, refinances and/or disposals would be particularly desirable and would be reflected in the salary offered.

The Opportunity

This is a good opportunity to join a growing team and gain broad exposure to accounting and financial reporting, alongside the opportunity to develop specialist property fund and technical accounting experience.

The role offers access to experienced senior practitioners and Partners, with opportunities for professional development and progression.

A comprehensive benefits package is also available, including a range of wellbeing, development and financial benefits.
