National Sales Manager - Building Chemistry

A leading specialty materials manufacturer seeks a driven National Sales Manager to build on its strong market presence and drive continued growth. This is a unique opportunity to lead a small team and make a significant impact across key industries, including construction, industrial applications, and agriculture. This position requires a relocation to the Kalamazoo area.

National Sales Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline or Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a relevant field
  • Consistent success in sales and sales management roles
  • Track record of direct sales to key accounts.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities
  • Excellent business English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driver’s license and passport ( minimal interantional travel)
  • Ability to travel (30%–50%, including some overnights)


National Sales Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience representing products such as cellulose, cotton, wood fibers, or similar specialty materials
  • Background collaborating with laboratory and international teams
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar CRM/ERP systems


National Sales Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and maximize performance to achieve revenue, volume, and margin goals
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing and new business partners
  • Develop and execute annual sales and growth plans, including budgets and forecasts
  • Support new product development by collaborating with R&D teams in the US and Germany
  • Represent the company and present technologies at industry trade shows and events
  • Generate price quotations, document customer and market information, and report sales activities
  • Develop new customer leads and form strategic partnerships across multiple channels
  • Regularly interact with customers, distributors, and global company offices
