Top Requirements

2+ years of hands-on Palo Alto Networks firewall engineering experience

Strong experience with Panorama administration including template stacks, device groups, policy hierarchy, logging, reporting, and role-based controls

Experience designing and maintaining enterprise network security architectures

Experience with security policy design, rulebase optimization, and firewall hardening

Experience supporting multi-vendor environments including Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco technologies

Job Summary

In this contingent resource assignment, you will participate in moderately complex Information Security Engineering initiatives supporting enterprise firewall infrastructure and network security operations. The Senior Firewall Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing secure network environments across a multi-vendor infrastructure while supporting migration initiatives and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Palo Alto Networks technologies, network security engineering, security policy management, and firewall migrations while working closely with infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructures
• Administer and support:
  • Palo Alto Networks firewalls
  • Panorama Management Platform
  • Fortinet technologies
  • Cisco routing and switching infrastructure
• Lead and support firewall migration projects
• Perform:
  • Policy analysis
  • Configuration translation
  • Migration planning
  • Deployment validation
• Utilize migration tools including:
  • Expedition
  • FortiConverter
  • SmartMove
  • Vendor migration utilities
• Build and deploy new network security solutions and infrastructure
• Perform security policy reviews and rulebase optimization
• Tune threat prevention and security controls
• Troubleshoot complex network security issues across enterprise environments
• Collaborate with network, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams
• Develop and maintain:
  • Network diagrams
  • Technical documentation
  • Configuration standards
  • Operational procedures
• Monitor security alerts, incidents, and operational events
• Participate in root cause analysis and remediation activities
• Participate in on-call support for critical security incidents and maintenance activities
• Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies
