Automation Controls Engineer
Introduction: The Automation Control Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing control systems for industrial and automation projects. The engineer will develop and configure PLC, SCADA, and related control architectures, perform system integration with robotics and vision systems, and ensure reliable process control across various manufacturing or industrial environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving control system issues, collaborating with cross-functional engineering and IT teams, generating technical documentation, and supporting commissioning and testing activities. The position is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, combining on-site work at client or project locations with some work-from-home flexibility. The engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, safety compliance, and adherence to industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize control systems for industrial and automation projects.
- Develop and configure PLC, SCADA, and related control architectures.
- Perform system integration with robotics and vision systems.
- Diagnose and resolve control system issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and IT teams.
- Generate technical documentation.
- Support commissioning and testing activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and safety compliance.
Requirements:
- Strong skills in Process Control and Troubleshooting.
- Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in Robotics integration with control systems.
- Proficiency in Control Systems Design, including PLC/SCADA programming and HMI development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and safety standards for automated systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in hybrid settings and manage multiple projects.
- Previous experience in consulting, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments is highly beneficial.
