Job Description

Business Analyst – Life Insurance

Location: Erie, PA (Onsite)
Experience: 12+ Years
Visa: TN

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst with 12+ years of IT experience and strong, recent hands-on Life Insurance domain expertise. Candidates must have worked on Life Insurance projects in their recent experience and possess in-depth knowledge of the complete Life Insurance policy lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have excellent business analysis skills, stakeholder management experience, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional Agile teams.

Mandatory Requirement

- Recent Life Insurance domain experience is required (must be from the latest project(s)).
- Candidates without strong, recent Life Insurance experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Functional Analysis

- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements (BRD, FSD, Use Cases, User Stories).
- Perform gap analysis and recommend business process improvements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications.
- Create workflow diagrams, process maps, wireframes, and business documentation.

Life Insurance Domain
Hands-on experience across the complete Life Insurance policy lifecycle:

- New Business & Onboarding
- Underwriting
- Policy Issuance & Servicing
- Premium Billing & Collections
- Claims Processing
- Persistency & Renewal

Strong understanding of:

- Term Life
- ULIP
- Endowment
- Annuity
- Riders

Project Collaboration

- Work with Product Owners, Underwriting, Actuarial, Operations, QA, and Development teams.
- Lead requirement gathering workshops and stakeholder discussions.
- Support SIT, UAT, and production implementation.

Required Skills

- 12+ years of Business Analyst experience.
- Strong recent Life Insurance domain experience (Mandatory).
- Expertise in BRD, FSD, User Stories, Use Cases, Gap Analysis, Process Flows, and Functional Specifications.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Microsoft Excel.
- Agile/Scrum experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Ingenium, Lodestar, Oracle Insurance, LifeAsia, or other Policy Administration Systems.
- REST APIs, SQL, and integration experience.
- Digital transformation experience in the Life Insurance industry.
- Agile/Scrum Certification.
