Psychiatry Education and Training Specialist

Houston Methodist seeks a Professional Development Generalist to design, deliver, and evaluate learning programs for psychiatry staff. This role conducts needs assessments, develops curricula, and facilitates orientation, competency training, and ongoing education that support safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. The generalist partners with clinical leaders to align programs with regulatory standards and strategic goals, leverages data to improve outcomes, and champions a culture of continuous learning, teamwork, and professional growth across our psychiatry services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct learning needs assessments for psychiatry staff and providers
• Design and update evidence-based curricula and training materials
• Facilitate orientation, competency validation, and ongoing education sessions
• Ensure programs align with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards
• Measure and report training effectiveness using quantitative and qualitative data
• Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to support strategic goals
• Maintain and optimize use of the learning management system for psychiatry programs
• Support CME/CEU processes and documentation as applicable
• Coach staff and leaders on professional growth and development plans
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, and interdisciplinary teamwork
