Network Security Cloudflare Migration Consultant

Role Summary
This position requires a highly skilled cybersecurity and network security professional to support a global financial services company's network infrastructure. The role involves migrating perimeter security from F5 to Cloudflare WAF, ensuring seamless integration and maintaining high standards for network security, performance, and reliability. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and operate within a flexible remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of perimeter security systems from F5 load balancers to Cloudflare WAF across global network infrastructure.
• Configure and optimize cloud-based web application firewalls (WAF), DDoS protection, and other security services for internet-facing applications and APIs.
• Manage network routing protocols including BGP and OSPF for a globally diverse network environment.
• Ensure security best practices are followed by implementing segmentation, secure access controls, and Zero Trust architecture.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network and security systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Collaborate with global teams and application owners to align security controls with business needs.
• Automate network security processes to improve efficiency and response times.
• Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, security configurations, and operational procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and new security technologies to recommend improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience (8+ years) in cybersecurity, network security, or security engineering within a large, complex enterprise environment.
• Proven expertise in migrating firewall and security infrastructure to Cloudflare WAF, with strong knowledge of perimeter security technologies.
• In-depth understanding of network routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF in a global context.
• Hands-on experience with security tools including F5, Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks, and other perimeter defense solutions.
• Familiarity with DNS management, Infoblox, and cloud security architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, PCNSE, or CCNP Security are preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and pass background checks.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Publishing Pay Range: $55.00 - $60.00 hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
