We seek Fire Protection Technician candidates with relevant Nuclear And Environmental Management Sector Experience (functional and technical area expertise also ideal) to support professional services engagement for Nuclear And Environmental Management Sector Clients such as SRMC. This as a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) Fire Protection (Fire Tech) Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Discipline Professional - ProSidian Strategic Resourcing and Professional Staff Augmentation for Fire Protection (Fire Tech) Solutions and Services Position; however, ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position.

JOB OVERVIEW

Provide services and support as a Fire Protection Technician [ProSidian Strategic Resourcing and Professional Staff Augmentation for Fire Protection (Fire Tech) Solutions and Services] aligned with the Fire Protection (Fire Tech) Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Discipline in the Nuclear And Environmental Management Industry Sector. 

This role focusses on Human Capital | Project Management | Engineering | Environmental | Compliance | Risk Management | IT Effectiveness | Business Process | Training Knowledge Management Solutions for clients such as Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) | SRMC Supply Chain / Procurement supporting the Liquid Waste Program under DOE prime contract 89303322DEM000068 Generally Located In Aiken, South Carolina and across the Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Region (Of Country/World) Working On-Site (Client Site).

Supports fire protection activities, maintenance, and field procurement engineering by handling planning, analysis, coordination, documentation, compliance, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Fire Protection Technician | Fire Protection (Fire Tech) [L00543]

Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task. Take necessary steps to stop work if continuing the activity is unsafe or will create and unsafe condition.

•  Understands site policies and procedures to service, troubleshoot, conduct repairs and maintenance on various systems, apparatus, and equipment including wet, dry, deluge, fire pumps, and electrical components. Assists senior personnel to disassemble, inspect, and repair equipment that requires specialized knowledge or is exceptionally hazardous.
•  Applies NFPA codes and standards to mitigate fire and safety risks.
•  Conducts visual and manual inspections and system tests including control valve functions to verify alarm and sprinkler systems are operating properly.
•  Tests, diagnoses moderately complex problems, troubleshoots, and services fire detectors, fire alarms, fire doors and panels, and other fire control containment equipment.
•   Liaises with internal and external representatives to test fire pumps and identify and clarify issues with fire protection systems.
•   Interprets blueprints, diagrams, and operational materials to resolve issues.
•  Generates standard and ad hoc reports and utilizes corrective action systems and processes to report issues and findings.
•  Operates motorized vehicles and associated equipment within policy and licensing limits.
•  Performs administrative functions as needed.
•  Meets and performs the physical requirements of the job duties, which may include lifting/handling up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, twisting, exposure to extreme temperatures, wearing protective clothing/equipment (including respiratory) and meeting radiological control requirements.
•  Acquire and maintain NICET level 2 certifications: Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems, Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems, and Special Hazards Systems.

•  High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year of direct work experience with fire control systems inspection and maintenance AND
•  Possess NICET level 1 or higher certification (s)

•  Possess NICET level 1 or higher certification (s)
• To remain in the position, must be able to demonstrate and apply knowledge of fire protection system orders and policies and retain training qualifications as required by management.

Supports the company’s Fire Inspection Program; a comprehensive Life Safety, Fire Prevention and Fire Hazard Inspection Program.
