Job Title: Product Manager
Location: Pheonix, AZ
Position Type: [Full-Time / Contract]
Requirement: Prior Experience at American Express (Ex-Amex) is MANDATORY
Key Responsibilities
Product Vision & Strategy: Define and execute product roadmaps aligned with Amex enterprise goals, strategic priorities, and customer needs.
End-to-End Product Lifecycle: Manage the product lifecycle from visioning and backlog grooming to release management and post-launch optimization.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Collaborate closely with cross-functional business units, engineering teams, risk/compliance officers, and third-party vendors.
Amex Operations & Systems: Utilize in-depth knowledge of Amex’s proprietary tech stack, legacy platforms, and modern digital ecosystems to streamline product integration.
Agile Leadership: Lead Agile/Scrum rituals, write high-quality user stories, define clear acceptance criteria, and prioritize sprint backlogs.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Define key performance metrics (KPIs) and utilize product analytics to continuously optimize feature performance and user experience.
Compliance & Security: Ensure all product features comply with strict financial regulations, credit risk policies, and Amex security protocols.
Mandatory Qualifications
Prior Amex Experience: Must have previous working experience directly at American Express (as a employee or long-term consultant/contractor) with a proven track record in a Product Management or Product Owner role.
Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of Amex business operations, platforms, and regulatory compliance requirements within Credit Cards, Merchant Services, Corporate Payments, or Consumer Digital Banking.
Agile Proficiency: Extensive experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Rally within an Agile/SAFe framework.
Technical & Business Acumen: Ability to translate complex business strategies into technical specifications and engineering requirements.
Preferred Skills & Expertise
Experience with API integrations, payment processing systems, or loyalty/rewards platforms.
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence leadership across business units.
