Department Head, Fresh Food Counter | Zwickau, Germany | On-site

We are hiring for a leading national food retailer, renowned for its commitment to quality and customer service, with a significant presence across Germany. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a vital section of a new store opening, focusing on delivering exceptional fresh food offerings and expert customer engagement.

The Role

  • Provide leadership and deputy responsibility for the fresh food counter team.
  • Ensure outstanding product quality, freshness, and consistent adherence to hygiene standards.
  • Drive effective sales strategies through appealing product presentation and customer interaction.
  • Manage inventory, pricing, and stock flow to optimize sales and minimize waste.
  • Implement promotional activities and contribute to the overall success of the store's fresh food department.

What You'll Need

  • Completed vocational training, ideally in food retail, or equivalent cross-functional experience with a focus on bakery or fresh food counters.
  • Solid knowledge of fresh products and a strong appreciation for quality and freshness.
  • A solution-oriented and results-driven approach with a dedicated and structured work ethic.
  • Excellent teamwork, customer focus, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating shift system, Monday to Saturday, between 06:00 and 22:00.
