Scientist II

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist II for a contract position with a Global Pharmaceutical Company located in Ridgefield, CT. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role involves initiating and completing routine in vivo studies, primarily in the field of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The ideal candidate will work independently to design and execute experiments, interpret outcomes, and troubleshoot effectively within a highly collaborative environment. This position includes participation in a weekend and holiday rotation to support business operations.
Responsibilities:

• Initiate and complete routine in vivo studies in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision
• Interpret the outcome of experiments and propose appropriate follow-up; troubleshoot effectively
• Assist in the design and execution of non-routine experiments in the context of CKD and cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) in vivo models
• Comply with applicable regulations including IACUC governance, performing all work in a safe manner
• Apply basic scientific principles for study design, data analysis, and interpretation
• Independently operate and maintain lab equipment
• Communicate work effectively both orally and in writing, contributing to protocols and scientific reports
• Report and treat data with a high level of integrity and ethics

Requirements:

• Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience in a related scientific discipline
• Hands-on experience in in vivo research
• Experience in routine routes of rodent dosing (i.v., i.p., p.o., s.c., and i.m.), health monitoring, and sample collection
• Compliance and communication experience with IACUC governance
• Proven problem-solving ability with an aptitude for an agile learning style
• Proficiency with data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment

Desired skills:

• Direct experience in rodent models of CKD
• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO experience

Pay range: up to $42.85 per hour
