About the Role

We are seeking a sharp and driven Controller/Finance Manager to join our team in Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets
Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations
Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies
Manage the financial reporting process, including budgeting, forecasting, benefits maintenance package, government surveys, and variance analysis.

Maintain a strong internal control environment. Ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing. Serve as a lead player in the month-end and year-end close processes (qtr. review and YE full audit), including reconciliations and financial statement preparation. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance financial controls and efficiency. Provide leadership and collaborate with the finance team. Appraises the organization's financial position and issues periodic reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.

Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems)
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling
Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and multi-entity financials
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders
