Job Description

Aria PIlates

Aria Pilates is a boutique reformer studio opening in Sleepy Hollow in late summer — built around a single idea: that movement, taught well, changes how people feel in their bodies, and that the room you move in matters as much as the work you do there.

We're a small studio by design. Ten Balanced Body Allegro NextGen reformers. A team of three founding instructors. A clientele we'll grow carefully, one relationship at a time.

We're hiring the instructors who will help define what an Aria class feels like.

The Role

You'll teach group reformer classes (capped at 10 clients), duets, and private sessions. Your roster will be mostly first-time and returning intermediate clients — people who chose Aria because they want intentional, considered teaching, not a workout on autopilot.

You'll also help shape the studio's first months: class formats, music direction, hands-on protocol, what a five-star check-in feels like. This is a founding role, not a fill-the-schedule role.

What you'll do

  • Lead 12–30 class hours per week, with morning and evening availability
  • Teach with precision: clear cueing, considered pacing, attentive corrections, smart modifications
  • Build real relationships with clients — know their names, their goals, what their week looked like
  • Maintain studio standards: a clean, prepared, beautiful room for every class

What we're looking for

  • Certified Pilates Reformer Instructor.
  • 1+ years teaching reformer in a studio setting
  • Working knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and modifications for common limitations (low back, shoulders, pre/postnatal, mature clients)
  • A teaching presence that is warm and exacting in equal measure
  • Reliability — prepared, on time, accountable to your schedule

Bonus, not required

  • Specialization in pre/postnatal, athletic conditioning, or rehab-adjacent populations
  • Familiarity with Mindbody or comparable studio software
  • A clear point of view on Pilates: what you teach, why you teach it that way, and who you do your best work with

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay: $40–$75 per class, based on experience, certification, and class type (group, duet, private)
  • Status: 1099 contractor; freedom to teach at other studios
  • Hours: 12–30 class hours per week to start, with growth as the schedule expands
  • Onboarding: Paid onboarding in the two weeks before opening (mid- to late August 2026)
  • Start date: Studio opens September 1, 2026

How to apply

Apply through this posting with your resume and a short note (a paragraph is enough) about your teaching philosophy — what you stand for as an instructor, and the client you do your best work with. A 2-minute video of you teaching a recent class is welcome but not required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to teach a sample class at the studio.
