Senior Software Developer (.NET / Java)

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer (.NET / Java) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position.
We are seeking a versatile and technically skilled Software Developer with a primary focus on .NET technologies and secondary proficiency in Java. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust enterprise applications, bridging modern Microsoft stacks with legacy or secondary Java-based microservices. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in C#, .NET Core, and cloud-native architectures, coupled with enough hands-on Java knowledge to support, integrate, or refactor auxiliary backend systems.
Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications, APIs, and microservices using C#, .NET Core / .NET 6/8, and ASP.NET Web API
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to SOLID principles and software design patterns
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security across cloud and on-premise environments
• Implement automated unit and integration tests using frameworks like xUnit or NUnit
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and integrate existing Java-based applications (Spring Boot / Java 11+) within the broader ecosystem
• Assist in API communication, data exchange, and gradual migration or interoperability between .NET and Java services
• Work closely with product managers, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical documentation

Requirements:

• 5+ years of overall software development experience with a strong track record in enterprise application delivery
• Advanced proficiency in C#, .NET Core, and Entity Framework Core
• Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices
• Solid understanding of SQL Server, database design, and query optimization
• Working knowledge of Java (Java 8/11/17) and foundational frameworks like Spring Boot
• Ability to read, debug, and modify Java backend logic and services
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/Google Cloud Platform acceptable)
• Strong problem-solving skills with a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and logical reasoning

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
