HR Business Partner Downpatrick 21.24 per hour
Temporary 52 Weeks 36 Hours per Week Immediate Start Available
Hatched Recruitment Group is delighted to be working exclusively with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner to join their Corporate Services team on a temporary basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional to join a busy, fast-paced local authority HR department, providing expert generalist advice across employee relations, recruitment, attendance management and casework.
The Role
As HR Business Partner, you'll act as a trusted advisor to managers across an assigned directorate, supporting them through the full range of people management issues. Day to day, you will:
- Provide proactive, specialist HR advice on policies, procedures, terms and conditions and employment law
- Support managers through discipline, grievance, attendance management, dignity at work and capability processes
- Take the lead on recruitment activity, including chairing selection panels and advising on current legislation
- Manage employee relations casework from start to finish, including confidential record-keeping
- Liaise with trade unions and staff representatives through local consultation mechanisms
- Support Freedom of Information and Data Protection request responses
- Provide cover for the HR Manager on a rotational basis
- Represent the Council at Employment Tribunals where required
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a generalist HR Business Partner or HR Advisor role
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, HR policy and best practice
- Confident handling complex employee relations casework independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, ideally including experience working with trade unions
- Eligibility to work in the UK
