Analytics Engineer
Location: Livonia, Michigan (Onsite)
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking a hands-on Analytics Engineer to bridge business requirements with reporting and data modeling. This role supports growing analytics needs by translating business requirements into data models, reporting solutions, and analytics deliverables. The position involves the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI reporting solutions for operational, project health, and business performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities

• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Translate business requirements into data models, reporting solutions, and analytics deliverables.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into actionable analytics deliverables.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reporting solutions.
• Create and optimize semantic models within Power BI and Google BigQuery.
• Develop reporting solutions across multiple business dimensions, including regional, state-level, and product performance views.
• Design data structures within BigQuery, including base tables, views, and surrogate keys.
• Determine and implement appropriate Power BI connectivity strategies, such as Import Mode, DirectQuery, or hybrid models.
• Collaborate with data engineers on ETL pipelines and data transformations.
• Tune report and model performance using tools like Performance Analyzer, DAX Studio, and Tabular Editor.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years of Business Intelligence experience with a focus on Power BI and enterprise reporting. Proven experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Technical Skills:

• Expert-level Power BI development and administration.
• Strong semantic modeling experience, including advanced DAX and Power Query skills.
• Advanced SQL skills and expertise in Google BigQuery.
• Proficiency in Python for notebooks and analytics integrations.
• Understanding of Power BI performance optimization and connectivity strategies.
• Ability to perform light-to-moderate data engineering work, including data ingestion and transformations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with CloudPak.
• Experience working within financial reporting environments.
• Knowledge of orchestration and pipeline concepts using Dataflow or Cloud Composer/Airflow.
