Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Engineer (Senior)
Location: Ashburn, Virginia 2 days a week
Required Clearance: DHS/CBP or TS clearance or Sponsorship
RATE: 150K-175Kper annum
 
We''re looking for a highly skilled Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) Engineer to design, build, and maintain our core cloud infrastructure. You''ll be the go-to expert for all things related to Google Cloud Platform''s foundational services, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and reliable. If you have a deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform''s networking, storage, database and security features, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud.
  • Manage core Google Cloud Platform services, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), subnets, firewalls, and routing tables.
  • Configure and maintain Google Cloud Platform storage solutions like Cloud Storage, Filestore, and Persistent Disk.
  • Oversee identity and access management (IAM) to ensure the principle of least privilege is applied.
  • Manage and operate cloud-native database services such as Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Bigtable, including performance tuning and high-availability configuration.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure costs.
  • Manage container orchestration platforms such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications have the necessary infrastructure resources.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Platform, Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineer.
  • 8+ years of working with Cloud technologies
  • Deep, hands-on experience with foundational Google Cloud Platform services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and VPC.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs within a cloud environment.
  • Experience with infrastructure such as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Google Cloud Platform certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect) is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting tools such as Bash and Python
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, Jenkins or Harness
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
