Responsibilities
• Provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the O&G Specialty Departments across the district.
• Demonstrate broad-based generalist experience in: intrapartum care, antenatal clinics, Gynaecology theatre and acute presentations.
• Work within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including at Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital to meet operational needs and supervisory requirements.
Qualifications
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) or equivalent as required by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Staff Specialists (NSW) Award.
• Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements.
• Sound clinical knowledge and experience across the generalist scope of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including intrapartum care and acute Gynaecology, and participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the speciality.
• High level interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
• Professional behaviour modelling for junior medical staff.
• Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support research as required within the Department.
Conditions of appointment
• Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Staff Specialists (State) Award.
• Employees and Contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
• Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children's Guardian is required.
