Systems Field Support Engineer - TS/SCI FSP with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Field Support Engineer - TS/SCI FSP for a leading government technology and infrastructure organization in the Annapolis Junction, Maryland area. The Systems Field Support Engineer - TS/SCI FSP role is a fully onsite position requiring 5 days per week onsite. The Systems Field Support Engineer will provide hands-on support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Oracle and Sun hardware, firmware, and software platforms supporting mission-critical environments.

An ideal candidate for the Systems Field Support Engineer role is an experienced systems professional with deep expertise in Oracle/Sun technologies and an active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities of the Systems Field Support Engineer: • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex Oracle and Sun systems hardware, firmware, and software issues in classified production environments. • Perform installation, maintenance, upgrades, and break/fix support for Oracle/Sun servers, storage systems, and related infrastructure. • Analyze system logs, hardware diagnostics, and performance metrics to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. • Collaborate with engineering, network, and operations teams to ensure system availability, reliability, and security compliance. • Support system patching, firmware updates, and lifecycle management activities while maintaining operational continuity.

Qualifications of the Systems Field Support Engineer: • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) required. • 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle and Sun systems in enterprise or government environments. • Strong expertise troubleshooting Oracle/Sun hardware, firmware, operating systems, and storage platforms. • Experience with system administration, performance tuning, and infrastructure support within Linux/UNIX environments. • Excellent analytical, communication, and customer support skills with the ability to work independently onsite.

Compensation for the Systems Field Support Engineer includes: • Salary range: $100,000 - $170,000 depending on experience • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave as required by law • This job opens for applications on 10/28/2026.
