Position: Building Services Engineer
Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Salary: £35,000
Building Services Engineer / Facilities Maintenance Engineer required in Chichester for our client. This role is suited to an experienced engineer working within the facilities management sector, supporting the service, maintenance, repair and installation of building systems.
The role involves performing routine inspections, fault diagnosis, and managing repair work on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. You will ensure compliance with UK building regulations and health & safety standards while liaising with contractors and clients to deliver efficient building services.
They have a rotating 40 hour working week, covering day shifts (08:0017:00), late shifts (14:0023:00) and Saturday (Sundays rare) working on a rota basis (typically 09:0023:00 Saturdays), with time off in the week to reflect this.
Building Services Engineer Job Overview

• Conduct scheduled inspections of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems on site.
• Carrying out routine PPM maintenance to AHU, FCU, MVHR, and A/C units
• Routine testing of water systems, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems, recording results in relevant logbooks
• Responsible for site-specific, periodic, and statutory documentation, ensuring they are always kept up to date
• Diagnose faults accurately and carry out repairs or coordinate specialist contractors.
• Manage installation projects, including planning and overseeing technical drawings and specifications.
• Ensure all work complies with current UK regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed service records and report on system performance and issues.
• Assist in troubleshooting complex building automation systems and control panels. (Trend)

Building Services Engineer Job Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in building services maintenance
• Experience working on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of BMS system (Trend) an advantage.
• PAT Testing certification
• Based within a commutable distance of Chichester
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on-site.
