Medical Director

The Medical Director provides scientific and medical leadership across pharmaceutical and healthcare training and marketing initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring the clinical accuracy, scientific rigor, and strategic relevance of medical content while serving as a trusted medical partner to both internal teams and clients.

The Medical Director works closely with medical writers, instructional designers, creative teams, project managers, and other cross-functional team members to translate complex scientific information into clear, engaging, and impactful training and marketing content. The role also helps guide the thoughtful use of artificial intelligence in content development, leveraging AI to improve efficiency and innovation while promoting responsible use, strong medical writing, critical thinking, and appropriate scientific oversight throughout the content development process.

In addition to content and scientific leadership, the Medical Director participates in client meetings, workshops, and strategic discussions; mentors and develops members of the medical content team; and contributes to business development activities, including proposals, pitches, capability presentations, and the development of innovative solutions for current and prospective clients.

Requirements

* Advanced degree in a life science, biomedical, healthcare, or related field (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent strongly preferred)

* 5+ years of experience in medical writing, medical communications, pharmaceutical training, healthcare marketing, or a related field

* Strong scientific and clinical knowledge with the ability to quickly understand complex therapeutic areas, clinical data, and mechanisms of action

* Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing, and providing strategic direction for scientifically accurate and engaging medical content

* Experience collaborating with medical writers, creative teams, instructional designers, project managers, and other cross-functional partners

* Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills, including experience participating in client meetings, workshops, and strategic discussions

* Experience mentoring and providing scientific guidance to medical writers and other content team members

* Familiarity with AI-enabled content development tools and an understanding of responsible and effective AI use within medical content workflows

* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven agency environment

* Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and scientific review skills

* Experience supporting business development activities, including proposals, pitches, and capability presentations, preferred

* Pharmaceutical or healthcare agency experience strongly preferred
