Job Description

HR Payroll Specialist | Essen, Germany | Hybrid

The Role

  • Manage monthly payroll processing for various entities, ensuring compliance with all statutory, collective, and internal regulations.
  • Administer working time and vacation accounts within the time tracking system.
  • Prepare employment contracts, references, and digitize employee files into a personnel file archive.
  • Advise employees and management on payroll-related, labor, income tax, and social security law matters.
  • Act as the primary contact for health insurance providers, social security agencies, and authorities, handling certifications and reporting.
  • Prepare and reconcile data for accounting purposes, including payroll bookings and personnel provisions.
  • Stay updated on and implement changes in payroll regulations, such as legislative updates.
  • Assist in personnel cost planning and proactively prepare/analyze personnel key figures.
  • Analyze existing processes and identify potential optimization opportunities.

What You'll Need

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship and several years of experience in payroll or HR administration.
  • Good knowledge of current labor, income tax, and social security law.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with HR management and payroll software, ideally SAP HCM or P&I Loga.
  • High level of commitment, service orientation, initiative, and independent working style.
  • Excellent teamwork, reliability, and resilience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in digital HR transformation.
