OB Technician (SEIU), Full-time, Night shift

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Department Specific License/Certifications:

• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA): Required

Essential Functions:

• Assists in preparation of patient rooms. Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedure utilizing aseptic technique, and checking integrity of sterile packaging.
• Assists the surgical team during operative procedures, providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner. Participates in the timeout on each case.
• Assist nursing staff in deliveries as directed by nurse: preparation, positioning, transports, transfer and discharge of patient.
• Collects urinalysis (UA) specimens. Takes and records maternal vital signs, weight, height and intake & output (I&O) measurements. Performs personal care services and assists with activities of daily living for patients in providing general care.
• Prepares, positions, transports, transfers and discharges patient.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
