Senior Snowflake Migration Architect / Lead Developer – Healthcare

We are looking for a highly experienced Snowflake Migration Architect / Technical Lead / Senior Developer to lead the migration of large-scale on-premises databases and data warehouse platforms to Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on Snowflake expertise, experience designing and executing complex database/data warehouse migrations, and prior experience working within the Healthcare domain.

This is a senior hands-on role requiring the candidate to participate in architecture, design, development, migration planning, performance optimization, testing, cutover, and post-production stabilization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end migration of on-premises databases/data warehouses to Snowflake.
• Assess the existing on-prem environment, database objects, schemas, ETL processes, dependencies, data volumes, interfaces, and workloads.
• Define the Snowflake target architecture and migration strategy, including migration waves, cutover approach, rollback strategy, and production stabilization.
• Design scalable Snowflake architecture including databases, schemas, warehouses, storage, compute, roles, security, and access controls.
• Perform hands-on development using Snowflake SQL, SnowSQL, Stored Procedures, Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables, Snowpipe, and related Snowflake capabilities.
• Migrate large volumes of historical and incremental data from legacy/on-prem databases into Snowflake.
• Re-engineer or modernize existing ETL/ELT pipelines for the Snowflake platform.
• Design data ingestion patterns including batch, incremental/CDC, and near-real-time processing where required.
• Perform source-to-target mapping, data reconciliation, validation, and migration testing.
• Optimize Snowflake workloads for query performance, warehouse utilization, scalability, and cost.
• Identify and remediate performance bottlenecks in SQL queries, data models, pipelines, and warehouse configurations.
• Design appropriate data security, RBAC, masking, encryption, auditing, and governance controls.
• Ensure solutions meet applicable healthcare data security and privacy requirements.
• Work with application, infrastructure, security, data engineering, DBA, business, and healthcare teams throughout the migration.
• Lead technical design reviews and provide guidance to developers and data engineers.
• Support production cutover, troubleshooting, hypercare, and post-migration optimization.
• Prepare architecture diagrams, migration plans, technical specifications, runbooks, and operational documentation.

Healthcare Experience

Candidates must have previous experience working with healthcare data/platforms. Experience with areas such as patient/member data, claims, providers, eligibility, clinical data, EHR/EMR, payer/provider systems, PHI/PII, HIPAA-controlled environments, HL7, or FHIR is highly preferred.
