Job Description

Experis IT Luxembourg is currently looking for a Backbone Engineer (m/f/x) for one of its clients based in Luxembourg.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Backbone and WAN network infrastructures
  • Administer, manage, and optimize network equipment ( routers and switches )
  • Manage and maintain routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and MPLS
  • Ensure network performance, availability, and resilience
  • Participate in the design and evolution of the network architecture
  • Monitor and analyze Backbone network performance
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network incidents
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Operations teams
  • Participate in migration, expansion, and modernization projects for network infrastructures
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of network processes and standards

Your Profile :

  • Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or an equivalent field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or Backbone environments
  • Strong expertise in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and MPLS
  • Good knowledge of Cisco and/or Juniper environments
  • Experience managing and operating large-scale critical networks
  • Strong troubleshooting and network incident resolution skills
  • Knowledge of WAN, Data Center, and IP networking environments
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG, Nagios , or equivalent
  • Good understanding of network security principles
  • Ability to work in complex and international environments
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, or JNCIP are considered a strong asset
  • Fluent in French and English (mandatory)
