AI Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

A Kforce retail client in Dublin, CA is currently looking for an AI Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity that is hybrid, with 2-3 days onsite per week. Must work with PST hours.

Summary

The AI Engineer will design, develop, deploy, and support production-grade AI solutions using the Microsoft AI ecosystem. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on intelligent assistants, AI agents, generative AI, RAG, agentic workflows, and enterprise integrations.
Responsibilities include:

• AI Engineer will design and deploy AI agents using Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry Agent Service
• Build agentic and multi-agent workflows using Python, Power Platform, SDKs, and APIs
• Develop RAG pipelines, including vector indexing, prompt engineering, knowledge grounding, and enterprise data integration
• Integrate AI solutions with APIs, databases, SaaS applications, and enterprise platforms
• As an AI Engineer, you will participate across the full SDLC, from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support
• Support CI/CD, LLMOps, AI security, governance, and responsible AI practices
• Collaborate with architects, data engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• Microsoft AI/Azure certifications, computer vision experience, AutoGen, and retail technology experience are a plus
• 4+ years of software engineering, AI/ML development, or related experience
• Hands-on experience delivering AI/ML or intelligent automation solutions in production environments
• Strong experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Copilot Studio
• Experience building AI agents using both Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry Agent Service
• Experience with RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, and agent orchestration
• Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, and OpenAI/Azure OpenAI SDKs
• Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and enterprise data sources
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI gateways, CI/CD, Git, and LLMOps
• Understanding of AI security, data privacy, responsible AI, and governance
• Strong Python development skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
