Job Description
JAB Recruitment is currently sourcing an experienced Head of Human Resources on behalf of our client, an established organisation operating within the energy sector.
This is a senior HR leadership position providing strategic people advice, coaching and operational support across the business. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders and managers to strengthen people capability, manage talent and deliver HR initiatives aligned with organisational objectives.
2 year PAYE contract 4 days office in Barrow with 1 at home option.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic and expert HR advice to senior leaders and managers.
- Coach managers on employee relations, performance, talent and workforce matters.
- Lead complex employee relations cases, including fair and objective investigations.
- Ensure HR decisions comply with employment law, internal policy and best practice.
- Lead annual HR programmes, including performance reviews, reward reviews and payroll communications.
- Support workforce planning, succession planning and talent management.
- Drive a high-performance culture and support managers in addressing underperformance.
- Coordinate internal and external recruitment activity and manage relationships with recruitment providers.
- Act as contract owner for external resourcing agreements.
- Maintain and develop HR policies, processes and governance.
- Manage relationships with employee benefit providers and support annual renewals.
- Provide HR guidance during organisational change.
- Work with Finance on budgeting, SAP processes, purchase orders and monthly reporting.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
Candidate requirements
- Significant senior-level HR generalist or HR business partnering experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
- Demonstrable experience advising and influencing senior leadership teams.
- Experience managing complex investigations, performance issues and organisational change.
- Strong coaching, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience leading annual reward, performance and talent processes.
- Previous responsibility for recruitment suppliers, benefits providers or HR service contracts.
- Commercially aware, pragmatic and confident challenging business decisions where appropriate.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent professional experience would be advantageous.
- Experience within the energy, engineering, industrial or regulated sectors would be beneficial.
This role would suit an established HR leader who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach to employee relations and organisational development.
