Years of Relevant Experience:

• 10+ years of relevant IT experience with specialization in middleware platforms (e.g., Axway or equivalent)

• Knowledge of mainframe batch job structures, JCL, job triggers, and scheduling concepts

• Experience with SFTP configuration, folder provisioning, secure key/credential management, and troubleshooting

• Strong understanding of interface design, file format requirements, and data exchange dependencies

• Excellent documentation skills and the ability to track complex migration tasks end to end

• Ability to interact effectively with external vendors, business partners, and senior-level stakeholders

• Knowledge of Viso, Azure, ALM Octane for creating requirement artifacts.

Overview:

The Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS), Office of Information Services, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst (BA5) with strong skills in requirements analysis, stakeholder coordination, documentation, and process alignment related to interface and file transfer modernization efforts.

Engagement:

Contract (Time & Materials). Classification: BA5 (More than 10 years of relevant technical experience).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Partner Outreach & Coordination

• Identify and lead outreach to third-party interface partners to support migration activities off the mainframe platform.

• Initiate contact, schedule discussions, confirm availability for testing, and maintain ongoing communication throughout the transition.

2. Interface & File Transfer Inventory & Documentation

• Develop and maintain a complete inventory of all interfaces, file transfers, and stakeholders impacted by the migration.

• Utilize prior project documentation, templates, and standards provided by JFS to ensure clarity and completeness.

3. Technical Planning & Cross Team Collaboration

• Coordinate closely with mainframe (JCL) teams, Axway/middleware specialists, and distributed platform engineers.

• Align technical planning with partner requirements, ensuring file formats, triggers, and batch execution windows meet operational expectations.

4. Schedule Management & Delivery Tracking

• Manage the migration schedule, adapting plans based on vendor responsiveness and internal resource constraints.

• Drive timely execution across multiple teams.

5. SFTP Environment Setup & Testing

• Oversee testing cycles based on partner capabilities, ensuring successful authentication, file delivery, and processing.

·       Ability to Analyze and create Document Interface Control Details (ICD)

·       Connection details (DNS, ports, protocols).

·       Folder paths and naming conventions.

·       Trigger points for when files are generated or expected.

·       Expected success/failure indicators (ACKs, error codes).
 Documents like the ICD are used as the tracking mechanism for all SFTP and web service interfaces, so the BA must know what details must be captured and validated.

Strong Documentation Skills for Complex Flows

Documenting Axway SFTP jobs requires:

·       Clear diagrams showing file sources, destinations, triggers, and schedules.

·       Documentation of error handling, partner escalations, and SLAs.

·       Maintaining accurate inventories of interfaces and file transfers.
