Principal Cyber Security Engineer | Chantilly, VA, United States | Hybrid This employer is seeking a highly motivated Principal Cyber Security Engineer to join a dynamic team. The role is critical in supporting system accreditation efforts and enhancing the overall security posture of complex systems within a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to make a significant impact on critical infrastructure. The Role • Design, implement, and maintain complex systems and infrastructure supporting key business objectives. • Deploy solutions to proactively mitigate cyber threats while collaborating with cross-functional teams. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, providing recommendations for improved security. • Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations, and develop disaster recovery plans. • Develop system monitoring and alerting strategies and mentor junior team members. • Assess security control performance and evaluate potential system security risks to implement corrective actions. What You'll Need • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of degree. • 7+ years of cyber security experience. • Demonstrated experience with accreditation processes and ICD 503 requirements. • Experience meeting security compliance using RMF, information assurance tools, or DoD STIGs. • Proven ability to work across a large team to drive security initiatives within complex systems. • Experience with network inventory and documentation, including security compliance, patching, and authentication. • Current DoD 8570 certification meeting IAT Level II requirements.
