Principal Cyber Security Engineer | Chantilly, VA, United States | Hybrid
This employer is seeking a highly motivated Principal Cyber Security Engineer to join a dynamic team. The role is critical in supporting system accreditation efforts and enhancing the overall security posture of complex systems within a fast-paced environment. The Role
- Design, implement, and maintain complex systems and infrastructure supporting key business objectives.
- Deploy solutions to proactively mitigate cyber threats while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, providing recommendations for improved security.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations, and develop disaster recovery plans.
- Develop system monitoring and alerting strategies and mentor junior team members.
- Assess security control performance and evaluate potential system security risks to implement corrective actions.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
- 7+ years of cyber security experience.
- Demonstrated experience with accreditation processes and ICD 503 requirements.
- Experience meeting security compliance using RMF, information assurance tools, or DoD STIGs.
- Proven ability to work across a large team to drive security initiatives within complex systems.
- Experience with network inventory and documentation, including security compliance, patching, and authentication.
- Current DoD 8570 certification meeting IAT Level II requirements.
