Implementation of Layer 1 Technology and deployment of end user assets are the primary goals of this team. This resource will have to be comfortable running and terminating cable (Cat5/6) Interact with the customer to gain an understanding of the business environment, technical context, and organizational strategic direction.

Define scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned projects. Collect, identify, define, and organize detailed user and IT requirements. Coordinate and collaborate with others in analyzing collected requirements to ensure plans and identified solutions meet customer needs and expectations. Confirm and prioritize project plans and deliverables with the customer. Participate in business and technical IT solution implementations, upgrades, enhancement, and conversions. Apply metrics to monitor performance and measure key project criteria. Prepare system documentation.

Establish and maintain security, integrity, and business continuity controls and documents. Analyze, identify and resolve business and technical problems using appropriate tools. Participate in special studies and stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.

• An IT Specialist will install, configure, service, repair, and maintain IT systems in both a stand-alone and client-server environment, including MS server, Defense Message Systems, and other authorized IT systems.
• Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain hardware and software for network services, storage networking devices, and servers. Integrate multiple information systems in a networked environment, evaluate and resolve customer information system problems, effect required hardware upgrades and repair to maintain mission capability.
• Install and configure wireless hubs, routers, switches, and various transmission media, server hardware and software, and ensure the proper installation and configuration of workstation hardware and software for efficient operation on the network.
• Install, optimize and troubleshoot Local Area and Base Area Networks.

Familiar with Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, and NAT. Perform advanced systems installation, operation, integration, and troubleshooting in order to maintain optimum Information Technology (IT) system operations. Design and oversee upgrades and new installs of IT systems and services ensuring coordination with Cyber Security Specialist. Perform Tier III upgrades of networking systems, IT systems, and storage networking.

Perform Tier III troubleshooting, optimization, and performance management of Internet Protocol (IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and routing protocols. Integrate enterprise, regional, and local IT systems ensuring current network operations are sustained or oversee their recovery. Ten plus (10+) years of IT experience including Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Network Address Translation (NAT).

Must possess a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification.
