NPI Mechanical Engineer

Description

We're partnering with an industry-leading technology manufacturer in Nashville that is seeking an NPI Mechanical Engineer to support new product introductions, production readiness, and mechanical design improvements. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with U.S. manufacturing teams and global design teams to bring innovative products from development into production.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from development through production.
• Collaborate with R& D, manufacturing, and customer support teams to resolve mechanical engineering challenges.
• Drive manufacturability and assembly readiness for new products.
• Design and validate fixtures, jigs, and mechanical components for testing and production.
• Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) recommendations.
• Review engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for mechanical and structural issues.
• Support tooling, sheet metal, and plastic component design, fabrication, and inspection.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and test plans.
• Partner with global engineering teams to ensure successful product launches and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience supporting NPI, manufacturing, or product development environments.
• Knowledge of server, storage, and/or PC hardware products.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and GD& T.
• Experience with sheet metal and plastic component manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• CAD experience (Creo/Pro-E preferred).
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers and other precision instruments.
