The Reporting Analyst and Developer supports end to end dashboard development. The role is responsible for translating business needs into actionable reporting solutions by analyzing processes, defining metrics, and documenting requirements. This position designs and develops dashboards and data flows, ensuring accurate data logic and intuitive user experience. This role also supports testing, documentation, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement of existing reporting solutions and data sources.

A strong emphasis is placed on usercentered design, ensuring that all reporting products are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with the needs of diverse stakeholders. Highquality design practices help ensure dashboards are not only functional, but also clear, engaging, and optimized for effective decisionmaking.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis

• Work with leadership and key staff to understand core business capabilities and existing business processes to define strategic metrics and key performance indicators

• Develop logic models to capture high-level business processes

• Document business requirements

• Collaborate with business stakeholders on design and functionality of dashboard solutions. Present options through the creation of wireframes.

• Profile databases and data sources used by the business

• Facilitate user acceptance testing

• Track and manage requests for dashboard enhancements

Report Development

• Create data flows using Tableau Prep
• Write complex SQL queries to bring data into dashboards
• Optimize dashboard performance through query tuning
• Develop dashboards based on business and technical requirements using Tableau. Although Tableau is the main reporting tool for this project Power BI, SharePoint, Power Automate, and Power Apps are also used.
• Conduct data validations and unit tests. Troubleshoot any issues.
• Conduct peer reviews on dashboards that are in development for this project
• Document reporting logic through creation of technical specifications and traceability matrices
• Strong critical thinking around creating solutions and troubleshooting bugs and data source challenges
• Provide guidance on improvements to data collection process or data source design

Training

• Assist dashboard developers by diagnosing workbooks failure, calculation errors or helping with data connections

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in related field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• At least 2 years of experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep
• Three years of professional experience in business analysis, data reporting, dashboard development, or a closely related analytical role
• Strong/expert level SQL skills
• Ability to document reporting logic, requirements, and technical specifications
