Earn More with Shift Differentials

Maximize your earnings with additional hourly pay:

  • +$2/hr -> Monday-Thursday Nights
  • +$3/hr -> Friday-Sunday Nights
  • +$2/hr -> Saturday-Sunday Days

What You'll Do:

 

The RISE Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) provides patients with the natural supports that are instrumental in maintaining a strong and successful recovery. This position demonstrates a strong personal recovery journey and serves as a positive example that recovery is a desirable and attainable goal. The Peer Support Specialist works collaboratively with multiple disciplines to support individuals in meeting their treatment and recovery needs. 

Community-Based Peer Support & Crisis Response

  • Provide community-based supportive services to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
  • Collaborate with Law Enforcement partners as part of a co-response model to provide peer support and recovery-focused engagement.
  • Serve as an educational resource for potential clients/patients experiencing a crisis.
  • Encourage and support individuals from a place of lived experience, understanding, and empathy, utilizing appropriate self-disclosure to support engagement and recovery.

Recovery Support & Individual Engagement

  • Provide education and support related to overcoming social determinants of health that may impact an individual’s recovery.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of community resources and connect patients with resources that support their unique treatment and recovery needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of multiple pathways to recovery and promote recovery options in an inclusive and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Build therapeutic alliances with patients while consistently applying trauma-informed care principles.
  • Serve as a positive example that recovery is a desirable and attainable goal through demonstration of personal recovery and wellness.
  • Conduct follow-up visits, as requested by law enforcement agencies, with individuals who have experienced an overdose, prioritizing follow-up within the best-practice standard of 24-72 hours, based on agency capacity and caseload.
  • Co-locate at assigned law enforcement stations and maintain availability to support officers and community members during designated hours.
  • Conduct re-engagement field visits with individuals who have an established relationship and treatment plan but are no longer actively engaged in services, with the goals of reconnecting them to appropriate care and support.
  • Respond as a second responder to complex crisis events in partnership with participating law enforcement agencies, providing case management, peer support, and connections to appropriate behavioral health resources.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support individual treatment and recovery needs.
  • Partner effectively with law enforcement and other community-based professionals to coordinate appropriate support and services.
  • Communicate relevant individual needs and recovery goals with members of the treatment team while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Document all encounters and services provided in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) accurately and timely.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and follow organizational policies, procedures, and applicable standards of care.

 Additional Duties

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management, supporting the overall needs of individuals, the team, and the organization.

What You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Arizona Peer Support Specialist certification required
  • 1-year consecutive months of personal Recovery Experience
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Successfully pass a motor vehicle record check and maintain a clean driving record
  • Must have own vehicle that is clean, neat, and in good working condition
  • Willing to obtain Full coverage car insurance with high-level liability
  • Arizona Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment

It would be great if you had:

  • 1-year Behavioral Health/Substance Use Treatment or GHM Recovery experience
  • Knowledge of evidence-based/person-centered skillsets, such as motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, verbal de-escalation, harm reduction, and person-centered language
  • Completion of specialized peer certifications (WHAM, ASIST, etc.)
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Experience using EHR
