About the role

As the ICT Architect you will be responsible for designing, developing, and governing the ICT systems required to support safe, reliable, and innovative delivery of health services. This role provides strategic and technical leadership in shaping ICT roadmaps for SWARH and the health service members, ensuring that all technology platforms, whether on premises, cloud-based, or hybrid, are secure, stable, cost-effective, and aligned with clinical and operational priorities.

You will provide expert guidance on complex system integration, resilience, disaster recovery planning, and the adoption of modern technology patterns. You'll drive standardisation, reduce technology risk, and ensure that technology decisions support the organisation's long-term digital strategy while enhancing patient care, clinical safety, and operational efficiency.

Keyresponsibilities
  • Develop and maintain ICT architecture, technology roadmaps, standards and patterns aligned with organisational, clinical and digital health priorities.
  • Ensure technology solutions are secure, resilient and compliant with cybersecurity, privacy, clinical safety and health industry requirements.
  • Lead technical design reviews and provide specialist ICT architecture advice across procurement, vendor selection and contract negotiations.
  • Drive the adoption of emerging technologies, automation, standardisation and fit-for-purpose solutions that improve clinical workflows, patient outcomes and service efficiency.
What we're looking for
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in ICT architecture or senior ICT engineering roles across multiple technical domains, including networking, storage, compute, data centres, cloud platforms and identity.
  • Experience with architecture frameworks (TOGAF, SABSA), or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms and hybrid architectures.
  • High-level of effective communication skills (oral presentation, written, information presentation).
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems proactively identifying improvement opportunities to add value to business operations.
