Quick Overview
Job Description
Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. Unrivaled pioneering spirit and a strong commitment towards a more sustainable future. That’s what we offer. Today, we are Europe’s largest renewable energy producer and employ more than 6.000 colleagues around the world. Our vision is clear - to renew the way the world is powered. But there is more work to be done and that is why we need you to help us.
Digital Transformation plays a critical role across Statkraft’s value chains. In Markets, reliable digital solutions, strong analytical capabilities and close collaboration between business and technology are essential to manage risk, support financial reporting and make well-informed commercial decisions. Many of our business-critical systems are developed and maintained in-house. We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join the team responsible for Beacon, our Portfolio and Risk Management platform, as well as the team responsible for Risk IT Tools, a suite of business-critical solutions that bridge business and IT and support risk analysts, quant teams, and developers. Together, these teams play a key role in enabling efficient risk management, reporting, analytics, and process automation across Statkraft's trading landscape.
As a Senior Business Analyst you will:
- Act as a key link between Markets and IT, connecting business needs with effective digital solutions.
- Work with business users, quantitative analysts and developers to understand needs and translate them into clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Analyse financial models, valuation methodologies, quantitative calculations and business processes to support solution development.
- Coordinate dependencies between Beacon, internal models and the wider Risk IT landscape.
- Drive priorities and support delivery from initial business need through implementation, testing and validation.
- Support the continuous improvement of risk management, reporting, analytics and process automation solutions.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure solutions work effectively across systems and meet business needs.
The position may be based in either Oslo or Düsseldorf, depending on the competence and profile of the successful candidate.
We are looking for colleagues who are excited to make an impact and bring a mix of mindset and skills to the team. This includes:
- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst in complex, business-critical IT or digital product environments.
- Strong analytical and financial-market knowledge, including an understanding of financial models, valuation methodologies and quantitative calculations.
- Relevant experience in areas such as energy trading, derivatives, risk management, valuation, market or credit risk, or financial reporting.
- Practical Python experience for data analysis, investigation, prototyping or automation, and the ability to understand and discuss code with technical colleagues.
- A structured, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently, explore details and take ownership through implementation and validation.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills, combined with experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Higher education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, economics, finance or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage.
At Statkraft, you’ll shape a career that is truly forward-facing with many amazing opportunities and offerings to match. This includes (non-exclusive):
- The chance to grow your career alongside a truly global network of experts, leaders, specialists and graduates from different countries and backgrounds
- The opportunity to work somewhere with pride, and to be able to honestly say “My work is contributing to saving the planet”
- A work culture that puts emphasis on the individual, offering flexible working solutions, and work life balance principles
- A focus on fun outside of work, supported by various activity groups such as soccer, yoga, sailing, climbing, boxing, cabin rentals, and much more
- Being part of a company proudly certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’
Our vision is to renew the way the world is powered. To navigate the complex journey ahead, we need every voice at the table. We therefore work actively to be a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcome all applicants regardless of background, gender, age, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnicity, nationality or disability.
Statkraft offers competitive terms of employment and benefits schemes, and we’re a trusted employer that puts the safety of our people first. We believe that a safe and healthy working environment is a matter of choice, not chance.
Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. We conduct background checks on qualified applicants before hire. The applicant must be eligible for security clearance and authorisation.
We evaluate applications for this role on a rolling basis, so please apply with your CV through our career pages as soon as possible.
