Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Lead Engineer with strong expertise in Embedded Linux, Yocto, ARM-based embedded platforms, C#, microservices, and system integration.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of embedded software development experience and hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and integrating embedded Linux solutions. Experience with regulated industries such as medical devices or life sciences is highly preferred.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–10 years of embedded software development experience.

  • Hands-on experience with Yocto Linux / Yocto Project build systems.

  • Strong experience with ARM-based embedded platforms, preferably NXP i.MX6 or similar.

  • Working knowledge of systemd service management.

  • Experience with hardware watchdog integration.

  • Experience with Embedded Linux OS optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with ASP.NET Core microservices.

  • Experience with lightweight Inter-Process Communication (IPC) frameworks such as:

    • ZeroMQ

    • D-Bus

  • Experience with C# and embedded software development.

  • Experience with PostgreSQL and database optimization.

  • Strong understanding of embedded system integration and software architecture.

  • Experience with code reviews, technical documentation, and risk management.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in regulated industries, especially:

    • Medical Devices

    • Life Sciences

    • Healthcare Technology

    • Other safety- or compliance-driven environments

  • Experience with messaging frameworks such as ActiveMQ.

  • Experience integrating embedded systems with legacy applications and microservices.

  • Knowledge of observability, monitoring, logging, and incident analysis.

  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimization of embedded software solutions using Embedded Linux, Yocto, C#, ZeroMQ, ActiveMQ, and PostgreSQL.

  • Design and optimize communication strategies between microservices, legacy applications, and embedded systems.

  • Implement messaging and API-based architectures for reliable system communication.

  • Optimize system performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.

  • Perform database tuning and messaging optimization.

  • Implement and improve observability, monitoring, logging, and incident analysis.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on Yocto-based Linux platforms.

  • Conduct code reviews and support software quality and engineering best practices.

  • Support risk management and development of technical documentation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to assess technical feasibility and support delivery roadmaps.

  • Troubleshoot system-level issues across embedded Linux, microservices, messaging, databases, and hardware interfaces.

  • Continuously improve software reliability, performance, and overall solution quality.
