ABOUT US
Our mission at Avelios is to unlock clinical data to power seamless healthcare operations for better patient care. To do so, we have built a modular software platform that digitizes and optimizes workflows in hospitals with cutting-edge technology in a user-friendly way. With our software, we enable hospitals, doctors & nurses to provide their patients with the best possible care.
We are growing fast and want to keep expanding our team and business to fundamentally digitize healthcare for the better. We appreciate different backgrounds and see diversity as one of our strengths.
THE TEAM AND ROLE
As our Compliance Manager, you will play an important role in strengthening and scaling Avelios’ compliance activities, ensuring that we can grow our impact in healthcare while maintaining high standards of patient safety, product quality, information security, and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will manage compliance topics, risk and quality management activities, as well as associated certification and audit processes. Working closely with our internal teams (e.g. Product, Engineering, Operations) and external stakeholders, you will translate complex requirements into pragmatic, scalable processes that support both compliance and growth.
We are looking for a hands-on and structured professional who enjoys improving systems, driving topics forward, and making compliance an effective part of our day-to-day operations. You will take ownership of key compliance initiatives and contribute to strengthening trust with patients, customers, auditors, and regulators.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Avelios’ compliance activities and roadmap: Coordinate priorities, maintain a clear overview of ongoing compliance initiatives, and contribute to the effective management of patient safety, quality, regulatory, and information security risks in alignment with Avelios’ social and business objectives
Build and execute scalable, audit-ready compliance processes: Develop and continuously improve policies, controls, and workflows that translate complex legal, regulatory, security, privacy, and quality requirements into processes teams can effectively follow
Drive cross-functional compliance initiatives: Take ownership of compliance projects from planning through implementation, coordinate relevant stakeholders, and work closely with experts across Avelios to ensure requirements are implemented effectively
Coordinate audits and certifications: Prepare and support internal and external audits (e.g. ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, BSI C5, MDR) and manage compliance-related customer requests and due diligence activities
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Law, Business Administration, Information Security, Quality Management, Medical Technology, or a related field
3+ years of professional experience in compliance, audit, project management, information security or similarly demanding environments
Hands-on experience supporting or managing audits, certifications, compliance programs, or complex cross-functional initiatives; experience with healthcare, quality, regulatory, information security, or privacy frameworks (e.g. MDR, ISO 13485, ISO 27001, BSI C5, GDPR) is highly desirable
Strong analytical thinking with a highly structured and outcome-oriented working style, while feeling comfortable driving complex topics to closure
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and a solid understanding of modern software environments, security controls, and software development processes
Fluency in both German and English (C1 level or higher)
YOUR BENEFITS
Variety in your tasks and the opportunity to take ownership
An international, informal team structure in a motivating start-up atmosphere, allowing you to participate directly in our customer growth story and the overall success of Avelios
Ability to gain valuable hands-on experience in a startup backed by leading international VCs
Support for your personal development through continuous learning and feedback
Set your own rhythm with flexible working hours and trust-based time tracking
A virtual stock option package (VSOP) that lets you participate in Avelios’ long-term value creation
A monthly meal allowance up to 75 euros, full coverage of the Deutschlandticket, Urban Sports Club or a subsidized Wellpass membership, a bike leasing program and Corporate Benefits that give you access to discounts from a wide range of providers in various areas
