  • Annual bonus opportunity
  • Shape and embed The AA’s critical data governance operating model across a large, complex organisation
  • Build a meaningful Group wide capability with strong executive sponsorship and the opportunity to influence how data is governed from an early stage
  • Play a key role in ensuring trusted, high-quality data supports better decision making, customer outcomes and our growing Data and AI ambitions

Which has been recognised by Sunday Times “Best Places to Work” for the last two years.

This is the Job

We’re looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join our Chief Technology Office and help our cross functional Product and Engineering squads deliver effectively and continuously improve how they work.

You’ll create the conditions for high performing, collaborative teams, acting as a coach and facilitator to help squads adopt and evolve effective Agile ways of working. You’ll support teams to maintain focus on outcomes, build greater autonomy and continuously improve how they plan, collaborate and deliver.

Working closely with Product Owners, Engineers, Business Analysts, Testers, Designers and Delivery leadership, you’ll help identify and remove impediments while using delivery data and squad insight to improve flow, predictability and effectiveness. You may support multiple squads at different levels of maturity, adapting your approach to help each team develop the capability to continuously improve its own ways of working.

What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate effective squad ceremonies and ways of working, creating an environment where teams collaborate, maintain focus and take collective ownership for delivery.
  • Coach squads in Agile principles and practices, adapting your approach to different levels of maturity and encouraging greater autonomy, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and help remove impediments, dependencies and delivery constraints, escalating systemic blockers and coordinating across squads where required.
  • Use delivery metrics and squad insight to identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve flow, predictability, throughput, quality and overall delivery effectiveness.
  • Partner closely with Product Owners and squad members to support effective planning, refinement and delivery, helping teams break work into manageable increments that enable earlier feedback and learning.
  • Work with other Scrum Masters and Delivery leaders to improve ways of working across our wider technology organisation, while supporting appropriate governance, risk management and transparency of delivery health.

What You’ll Bring

  • Significant experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach or similar team enablement role within complex product and technology environments.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting cross functional Product and Engineering teams, including squads at different levels of Agile maturity.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, methodologies and modern product development practices, with the ability to apply them pragmatically rather than prescriptively.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching capability, with experience helping squads improve flow, predictability, collaboration and delivery effectiveness.
  • Strong understanding of delivery metrics, using data and insight to identify and address impediments, dependencies, bottlenecks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and a clear understanding of the respective accountabilities of Product, Engineering and Delivery roles.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting multiple squads, cross squad delivery or teams through organisational and ways of working change.
  • Experience within a regulated or operationally critical environment.
  • Advanced Scrum Master, Agile Coaching, Kanban, Product, Delivery or other relevant professional qualifications.
