Job description
Description Are you a hands-on Manufacturing / Quality Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in Jacksonville, FL, to support mission-critical aerospace and defense manufacturing programs? Join an established defense engineering and manufacturing company with over 20 years of success, a strong government customer base, and a history of industry recognition for delivering reliable solutions to complex military requirements!
This is an outstanding opportunity to work directly with engineering teams, suppliers, and defense customers in a close-knit environment where your technical expertise will make a meaningful impact on product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and continued company growth.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Manufacturing / Quality Engineer position include: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Materials Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline, with a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or quality engineering experience in defense, aerospace, or another regulated manufacturing environment. U.S. citizenship required, along with the ability to complete an applicable government background investigation; experience supporting defense customers and understanding military manufacturing requirements is essential.
Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, technical data packages, GD&T, ASME Y14.5, military specifications, and manufacturing processes including CNC machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and surface finishing. Provide hands-on manufacturing and quality engineering support throughout the product lifecycle, including technical reviews, production planning, manufacturing processes, inspections, testing, and final product acceptance. Develop and improve manufacturing work instructions, inspection plans, quality procedures, and production processes while identifying opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, costs, and production delays.
Investigate nonconforming materials, coordinate corrective actions, support supplier quality activities, and participate in audits, inspections, and quality compliance initiatives. Collaborate with defense customers, government quality representatives, suppliers, engineering teams, and internal departments to resolve technical challenges, maintain contractual compliance, and ensure successful program execution.
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with a 50% employer contribution, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, two weeks of paid time off with flexibility for negotiation, year-end bonus opportunities, and professional development and certification support.
