Location: 1 Brampton Road, Savannah, GA 31418
Work Mode: 100% On-site
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40–50 hours/week)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead and execute capital projects while supporting plant engineering initiatives in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and managing engineering projects to improve plant operations, productivity, safety, and overall equipment performance.
Note: The selected candidate must be willing to wear required PPE, including a hard hat, safety shoes, eye/ear protection, and other safety equipment as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead capital projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Prepare project scopes, engineering designs, cost estimates, and capital expenditure justifications.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new technologies and recommending equipment and process enhancements.
Serve as the primary engineering resource for design, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
Coordinate with maintenance teams, production, and external contractors during project execution.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for plant operations and maintenance.
Develop and maintain engineering, safety, and project execution standards.
Promote and enforce safety policies and best engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
5+ years of Project Engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing or building products.
Proven experience managing capital projects from planning through implementation.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, maintenance, and operations.
Proficiency with G Suite and standard engineering software.
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance.
Experience with continuous manufacturing processes.
Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills (Kepner-Tregoe or similar methodologies).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
CAD drafting experience, preferably using Autodesk products.
