Job Description

Position: Project Engineer
Duration: 6+ months (Potential conversion to Full-Time based on performance, business needs, and budget)
Location: 1 Brampton Road, Savannah, GA 31418
Work Mode: 100% On-site
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40–50 hours/week)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead and execute capital projects while supporting plant engineering initiatives in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and managing engineering projects to improve plant operations, productivity, safety, and overall equipment performance.

Note: The selected candidate must be willing to wear required PPE, including a hard hat, safety shoes, eye/ear protection, and other safety equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Prepare project scopes, engineering designs, cost estimates, and capital expenditure justifications.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new technologies and recommending equipment and process enhancements.

  • Serve as the primary engineering resource for design, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.

  • Coordinate with maintenance teams, production, and external contractors during project execution.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for plant operations and maintenance.

  • Develop and maintain engineering, safety, and project execution standards.

  • Promote and enforce safety policies and best engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.

  • 5+ years of Project Engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing or building products.

  • Proven experience managing capital projects from planning through implementation.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, maintenance, and operations.

  • Proficiency with G Suite and standard engineering software.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance.

  • Experience with continuous manufacturing processes.

  • Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills (Kepner-Tregoe or similar methodologies).

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).

  • CAD drafting experience, preferably using Autodesk products.
