Job Summary

The State of Virginia is seeking an experienced Database Administrator with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, and T-SQL. The selected candidate will be responsible for database administration, troubleshooting, code maintenance, technical support, and resolving database-related issues in a hybrid environment.

Required Skills

• Strong T-SQL development experience

• Database administration and maintenance

• Experience troubleshooting, investigating, and resolving technical issues

• Ability to maintain and update code developed by internal teams

• Experience providing technical/end-user support

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to quickly learn new systems and procedures

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.

• Develop and maintain T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and database code.

• Create, maintain, and support SSRS reports.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database and application-related technical issues.

• Investigate production issues and implement appropriate resolutions.

• Maintain and update code developed by internal application teams.

• Provide technical support to end users.

• Collaborate with developers, business users, and technical teams.

• Support database-related application modules and system changes.

• Follow established SDLC and IT procedures.

• Document technical solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be local to the Richmond, VA area.

• Must be available for a hybrid schedule.

• Must be willing to attend an in-person interview in Richmond, VA.

• Strong SQL Server + SSRS + T-SQL experience is essential.
